Professional Experience
October 2014 to Present – Permanent Contract Position

Verge Technologies

Provide IT help desk and general IT maintenance services to customers of AGCredit’s Nevada offices located in Fallon, Reno, Elko, and Alturas. Perform monthly computer/printer maintenance and cleaning, checking for anti-virus and other necessary patch updates, update user-profiles and assist with troubleshooting user issues and other services contracted by the customer. Server and UPS installations. IOS device support and training.

March 2015 to November 2015 – Contract Position

Bravo Consulting

Provide Remote IT Help Desk services to Netfortris customers in El Salvador, Seattle, and San Francisco. Systems are running Windows 7 and 8 clients in an Active Directory environment. NetFortris is a business communications infrastructure company for the network, communications, applications, and IT services. They also offer cloud technology solutions.

Field Support Specialist

Desktop Support

Sole desktop support for approximately 100 user WAN environments running mostly Windows NT. Daily duties included new system setups, troubleshooting software, and hardware issues, user training, as well as designed, maintained and asset managed all hardware/software. Installed and maintained a Web Server for an Intranet, which housed developer documentation procedures and made them available online. Worked closely with Vision Service Plan Network Engineers to assure smooth software upgrades and verify licensing and policies were being followed since they still maintained the server farms for Eyefinity.

Field Engineer/Project Manager

Traveled mainly throughout the western United States and was responsible for a variety of project management functions including supervising field engineers for installation of wireless and wired Internet technologies. In addition, we provided a custom interface with the hotel/motel billing system for ease of billing customers for internet services and provided various troubleshooting support for these applications. Also performed post service calls on existing installations and upgrades, troubleshooting issues with installed products including a wide variety of wired/wireless and over voice Internet technologies, routers, hubs, switches & telco equipment. Traveled to customer sites for wireless and wired surveys for the installation of products in hotels & motels in addition to training staff. Tools we used for documentation of projects mostly were Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Office 2000 suite. Worked with various vendors to ensure installation went as planned and in a timely manner and acted as the liaison between vendors and customers

Field Engineer

Fieldwork for a company that specializes in LAN/WAN Technologies. Standard applications were typically Arcserve, Intel LANDesk VProtect (now Symantec product), APC Smart-UPS, Axis Storpoint CD Server, Microsoft Exchange or GroupWise, Outlook 97-2000, Office 97-2000, Corel Office Suite, PC Anywhere. Most works performed was support at the desktop level and connectivity issues with both standalone and small business servers running in both Novell and Windows environments. Other typical work involved design and setup of networks for small to medium-sized businesses and many installations were with Microsoft Small Business Servers.

Recom was an SBA contractor that supported Western Area Power Administration located in the Sacramento area. Responsible for support of clients connected to 7 Novell Servers in a LAN/WAN environment with approximately 200-300 local users. Extensive work in a government environment supporting users issues with desktops connecting to both Novell and Windows Servers. Novell administration work and cabling issues were also part of the daily routine as well as traveling to remote sites for user support. This was a team environment with typically 4 or 5 people on the desktop team
